“The German cargo/passenger ship S/S Amasis was built in 1923 by Vulkan for the Kosmos Co. In 1940, she was requisitioned by the Kriegsmarine to be used as a troop and cargo transport in the onvasion of Norway.

On April 9th, 1940, Amasis was in neutral Swedish waters and on her way from Stettin to Oslo with coal, when she was torpedoed by the British submarine Sunfish (J. E. Slaughter), off Lysekil. She sank very fast, but all 51 crew were saved. “Β

Amasis is now laying at a depth between 36-50 meter, so the best way to explore the ship is through tec diving. On this dive some of us did a recreational dive down do 40 meters witch limited our time at the shipwreck. I manage to get a few good photos from my short visit to this amazing wreck.
